A method of printing, in which a print is taken from a flat surface that contains some form of matrix by means of etching, dry point, or woodcut. The surface is painted differently each time it is used, without the constraint of an edition where all prints are pulled to look relatively similar. Each print pulled using a monoprint is similar in content but each unique in color.
